Střední škola zemědělská a veterinární Lanškroun

The Secondary School of Agriculture and Veterinary Lanškroun

It is located in Eastern Bohemia in the Pardubice region, about 220 km from Prague. Tradition of the school dates back to 1945. The school has its own dormitory, canteen, gym, sport grounds and facilities for practical lessons (school stable, cowshed).

ŠkolaOur school cooperates with agricultural and research institutions, universities and foreign schools within educational projects. Our school is one of the founding members of non-profit educational institution Agrovenkov.

The school offers two branches - Agro Business and Veterinary.

The important part of the school facilities is a school farm. The farmland has an area of 230 hectares. We have there a new cowshed, which was built two years ago. We keep there about 100 heads of cattle (cows, bulls, calves, heifers). We breed mainly Czech parti-coloured cattle. In the cowshed we have five pigs of breed Mangalica.

Our school has two stables.  In the first stable there are horses, New Zealand red rabbits, hens and a donkey, which was brought last summer holidays. In the second barn which is called upper stable there are just horses (breeds of horses are Czech Warmblood, Hucul, Kladrubský horse and Silesian norik. Our students also participate in show jumping competitions with school horses. Other animals which are at our school farm are goats and sheep.

KravínIn our school farm we grow six plants. These include wheat, rape, corn, GPS (a hybrid of barley and peas) and triticale (a hybrid of wheat and rye).

In the farm we use mainly tractors ( Zetor UR-I, Zetor Forterra, Zetor Deutz – fahar 120, Forklift HCB 2558th and a tractor Case CVX95).
